indulgences

If you've spent much time with me, you know that two of my unique passions are literature/linguistics and health food. Today, with an hour before my next volleyball practice, I am indulging in both.

the blog of a child

This blog does not have a specific theme, such as politics or food or parenting. Instead I am, in my posting, rather like a small child.

Sometimes I produce a thing of my own, using a blue crayon to scribble a picture, which I then proudly thrust toward you. My attempts are not graceful, my pictures sometimes hardly recognizable, but I hope that they will be useful to you. At the very least, I hope they will amuse you or serve to adorn your refrigerator.

At other times I toddle toward you, small fists outstretched. You open your hand and I carefully drop into it a seashell or a shiny rock. I have found something novel and beautiful that I want to share with you through my posting.

This is my childlike blog, and I welcome you.

giving credit where credit is due

Are the posts on this blog truly my own work? In a sense, yes, because, unless otherwise cited, everything that I write comes from between my own two ears. However, I will be the first to admit that I am not responsible for all that information getting there. My parents and teachers have taught me facts, and have toned my God-given thinking and writing abilities to such a degree that I can present my ideas to you now.

To all the unsung heroes of my intellectual ventures--teachers, pastors, mentors, family, and friends--thank you.
